Acro Yoga Texas

Acro Yoga is where playfulness and practice come together. It’s a dance of trust, balance, and connection between two or more people. Unlike traditional yoga that flows solo on a mat, Acro Yoga turns the body into a partner, a lift, and a shared, amazing journey. It was co-created by Jason Nemer and Jenny Sauer-Klein in the early 2000s, by mixing yoga, acrobatics, and Thai massage into a single and empowering practice.

Acro Yoga Texas

Acro Yoga strengthens not just the body, but also communication, trust, and emotional awareness. Each pose becomes a conversation, every lift a shared triumph, and every landing a gentle lesson in patience and presence.

In Texas, this practice has taken on a unique and lively character. With spacious studios, sunny outdoor jams, and a bold, welcoming community, it’s easy to explore your strength, courage, and creativity while literally lifting each other up. From Austin to Dallas and beyond, Acro Yoga enthusiasts come together to build skills, make connections, and enjoy the joy of moving together. Here, Acro Yoga isn’t just exercise; it’s a playful adventure that teaches connection, trust, and joy, all under the wide-open Texas sky, where every stretch, lift, and balance becomes a celebration of community and self-discovery.

So, let’s check out the studios for Acro Yoga Texas

It was created by community members who wanted to give structure and support to the already flourishing Austin Acro yoga scene. They connect passionate teachers, students, and spaces, organize jams and classes, and keep the local Acro spirit alive. At its heart, the group was started to make sure that anyone curious about flying, basing, or spotting could find a safe and open space to try!

Dallas Acro Yoga

About –

Dallas AcroYoga began around 2017 with one big dream to make AcroYoga and movement arts open and affordable for everyone. It started with a few people coming together to share lifts, balance, and play, which has now grown into a nonprofit community (501c3) that runs on love, laughter, and volunteer energy.

In 2021, Jake Drew, a professor and long-time AcroYoga fan, created the Dallas AcroYoga Private Foundation to give the community a strong base to grow from. Alongside him is Alex Schellhorn, a friendly, experienced yoga face who keeps the group running smoothly and helps new people feel right at home.

Together, they’ve built more than just classes and jams. They’ve built a safe and welcoming space where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, fly, and discover how fun AcroYoga can be!

Acro Yoga Offerings –

  • Acro Open Gym – The studio hosts casual, drop-in sessions where participants share skill levels, practice together, and connect. It’s conducted at Elevate Gymnastics in Dallas.
  • AcroYoga Classes – These structured classes focus on beginner-level partner acrobatics for teaching basic positions and transitions where one person acts as the base while the other is the flyer.
  • Competitive Dance Lifts – They focus on dance lifts and phrases, especially in styles like country freestyle. Its facilities include a hardwood dance floor, spring floors, safety mats, and waist harness points. This setup allows partners to practice and learn the mechanics of big lifts safely, starting close to the ground with spotters.
