Is this Yoga Alliance certified? What does that mean?
Yes. Siddhi Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200, RYS 300 and RPYS) with Yoga Alliance. After completing this program, you are eligible to register as an RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hours) directly with Yoga Alliance. This credential is recognised by studios, gyms, and employers worldwide. It is not a government license (yoga teaching is generally unregulated), but it is the de facto professional standard in the industry.
Is an online certification as valid as an in-person one?
Yes. Yoga Alliance accreditation is identical whether training is online or in-person, as long as the school meets Yoga Alliance requirements including 30+ hours of live contact. Studios and employers check for ‘RYT-200’ or ‘Yoga Alliance certified’, not how it was delivered. Many thousands of working yoga teachers worldwide have online certifications from accredited schools.
Does this program comply with Yoga Alliance’s 2026 requirements?
Yes. Yoga Alliance now requires a minimum of 30 hours of live synchronous contact for online 200-hour programs. Siddhi Yoga’s daily live classes fulfil and exceed this requirement.
Will my certification be recognised if I want to teach abroad?
RYT-200 is a globally recognised credential accepted in 125+ countries. Siddhi Yoga already has graduates teaching in 125+ countries. In a small number of countries, yoga teaching may require a local business license in addition to your yoga certification – check your country’s specific regulations.
How does the online training actually work?
The program combines self-paced video lessons (250+ pre-recorded videos) with daily live classes broadcast by the instructors. A typical week involves: watching video modules on your own schedule, attending live classes (we have 24×7 Classes by 2 Male and 2 Female Yoga Instructors), completing written assignments, and participating in the online community. You do not need to be available at a fixed time every day.
Do I have to attend live classes? What if I am in a different time zone?
Live class attendance is strongly recommended because 30 hours of live contact is required by Yoga Alliance for your RYT-200 registration. Siddhi Yoga offers live classes across multiple time zones and provides session recordings. The program has students in 125+ countries, so time zone accessibility is built into the design.
Can I do this while working full-time?
Yes – this is designed for busy professionals. Most students dedicate 10-15 hours per week to video lessons, live classes, and assignments. The self-paced model means you can adjust your study schedule week by week around work and family commitments.
What equipment and space do I need?
A laptop, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, a yoga mat, enough floor space to practice fully, and a quiet environment. A camera is needed for practice teaching video submissions. No specialist equipment is required.
How much yoga experience do I need?
Six or more months of consistent personal yoga practice is recommended. You do not need to be an advanced practitioner. If you can practice yoga regularly and are curious about the philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology behind what you do, you are likely ready. No prior teaching experience is required. If you are new to Yoga, you can start with our daily online classes as per your needs.
Do I need to be able to do advanced poses like handstands?
No. Advanced poses are not required to become a yoga teacher or complete this certification. What matters is understanding alignment, breath, and the principles behind each pose – knowledge you will develop during the training. Teachers who are not extreme athletes often make better teachers for general populations because they understand modification better.
I just want to deepen my practice. Do I have to teach after completing?
Absolutely not. Yoga enthusiasts who want to deepen their practice are one of the four main audiences this program is designed for. Many graduates never teach publicly but use the training to deepen their personal understanding of yoga. The certification is yours regardless of whether you choose to teach.
Is the course in English only?
The course is taught in English, but subtitles are available in 10 languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and English. The digital manual is available in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish – making it one of the most internationally accessible YTT programs globally.
What subjects are covered in the 200 hours?
The curriculum covers all Yoga Alliance-required categories: Yoga Asana and Sequencing (Hatha and Vinyasa), Yoga Philosophy and History, Anatomy and Physiology, Teaching Methodology, Practicum and Teaching Practice, Pranayama (breathwork), Meditation, Bhakti Yoga, and Class Management. The multistyle approach trains you across multiple yoga traditions rather than specialising in just one.
What is ‘Multistyle’ yoga teacher training? Why is it better?
Most schools train teachers in a single style (Hatha or Vinyasa). Siddhi’s Multistyle approach means you graduate with competence in Hatha, Vinyasa, Pranayama, Meditation, and Bhakti yoga. This makes you more versatile and employable – studios want teachers who can cover multiple class types, and private clients benefit from a teacher who can adapt to their needs.
How do I practice teaching if everything is online?
Practicum is done via recorded video submissions – you film yourself teaching a class to family, friends, or solo, then submit for instructor feedback. Some live sessions include peer teaching exercises in small groups. Practice teaching is built into the curriculum across multiple modules, not left to the very end.
Is there a final exam?
Yes – typically a combination of a written exam covering yoga philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology, and a practical teaching video submission where you lead a class using a provided class plan. You are guided through what to expect well in advance.
Can I actually make a living as a yoga teacher after this?
Yes, but realistic expectations are important. Most yoga teachers in the early stages supplement teaching with another income source. Typical studio class rates range from $25-75 per class in most markets; private clients pay $60-150 per session. Online teaching has dramatically expanded income potential. The certification is the essential first credential – building income then depends on business skills, marketing, and consistency.
Will studios hire me with an online certification?
Yes. Most studios hire RYT-200 teachers regardless of whether training was online or in-person, as long as the school is Yoga Alliance accredited. In markets where yoga is well established, RYT-200 from an accredited school like Siddhi Yoga is the standard baseline qualification.
Can I teach online and build my own business?
Absolutely. Online teaching is one of the fastest-growing paths for yoga teachers. After certification you can teach on Zoom, create YouTube content, sell recorded classes on marketplaces, or build your own subscription model. Many Siddhi graduates teach internationally from their home timezone.
What comes after the 200-hour certification?
After completing your RYT-200 and accumulating teaching hours, you can enrol in Siddhi Yoga’s 300-Hour Multistyle YTT. Combining the 200-hour and 300-hour gives you an RYT-500 – the higher Yoga Alliance credential. Siddhi also offers specialisation certifications in Vinyasa, Hatha, Prenatal, Yin, Chair Yoga, and more for niche expertise.
Why does this cost so much less than in-person programs?
The lower price reflects the cost structure of online delivery, not lower quality. In-person programs cost $2,000-$4,000+ partly due to accommodation, meals, venue, and small cohort limits. Siddhi Yoga’s online model removes these costs while maintaining the same faculty, curriculum, and Yoga Alliance accreditation. You are getting the same certification for a fraction of the cost.
Are there payment plans?
Yes – flexible payment plans are available. The program starts at $397 with instalment options.
What is the money-back guarantee?
There is a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied within the first 14 days of enrolment, you can request a full refund. This makes it risk-free to try the program.
How long does it take to complete?
The program is self-paced. Most students complete it in 3 to 6 months when studying 10-15 hours per week. Some complete it in 6-8 weeks; others spread it over 12 months around family and work.
How do I register with Yoga Alliance after completing?
After completing the program, Siddhi Yoga provides your certificate of completion. You then register directly on the Yoga Alliance website (yogaalliance.org) using your certificate. Yoga Alliance charges a one-time registration fee (currently around $115 USD) to become an RYT-200 member. Your school name will be searchable on the Yoga Alliance directory.
Does my certification expire?
The Yoga Alliance RYT-200 credential requires annual membership renewal with Yoga Alliance (currently around $115/year) and 30 hours of Continuing Education (CECs) every 3 years to maintain active registration. Your Siddhi Yoga completion certificate itself does not expire – it is a permanent record.
