Kundalini Yoga Colorado

Kundalini Yoga, often called the Yoga of Awareness, is more than just postures; it’s a flowing mixture of breathwork, mantra, movement, and meditation created to wake up the dormant energy at the base of the spine. This uplifting practice was introduced to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1969 by marking the beginning of a global journey that would inspire countless spiritual seekers.

By the early 1970s, Kundalini Yoga found its way into Colorado, a state known for its love of nature, wellness, and conscious living. The serene mountains, open skies, and strong sense of community created the perfect backdrop for these teachings to take root. From small gatherings in Boulder and Denver to lively ashrams and yoga centers, Colorado accepts Kundalini Yoga as a path to balance vitality, and self-awareness.

Kundalini Yoga isn’t just about flexibility; it’s about energy, awareness, and personal growth. It helps reduce stress, sharpen mental focus, improve immunity, and bring emotional stability in a world that often feels overwhelming. For many, it’s a road to spiritual growth and a sense of purpose.

Practicing Kundalini Yoga in Colorado increases these benefits by breathing with the Rockies in view, chanting under the clear blue skies, or meditating in the quiet of nature; the environment itself becomes a partner in your practice. Kundalini Yoga in Colorado offers a truly unique and uplifting experience.

Now, let’s check out the Yoga Alliance registered studios in Colorado –

Light on Kundalini

Light on Kundalini

About –

Light on Kundalini was born from a desire to share the wisdom of Kundalini Yoga with the world. It was founded by Karuna (Caroline Ashley), a passionate yoga teacher and guide who has devoted years to this practice. After years of personal growth and teaching, Karuna opened Light on Kundalini to make these sacred teachings more accessible to everyone.

The platform grew as a space where people could explore Kundalini Yoga beyond the mat through kriyas, breathwork, meditation, mantra, and holistic lifestyle practices like Ayurveda. Karuna’s vision was to help others find their inner light and live with more clarity, energy, and joy.

The studio is a global hub for classes, training, retreats, and events, combining tradition with a warm and modern approach. It’s guided by Karuna’s experience and heart-centered teaching, which continues to inspire those wishing to live a conscious way of life.

Kundalini Yoga Crestone

Kundalini Yoga Crestone

About –

Kundalini Yoga of Crestone is a special place where Kundalini Yoga originally came alive in Colorado. It was established in 2005 by Sue Beck-Retuta and her husband, Dan Retuta, who already ran the Crestone Healing Arts Center. She has trained with one of Yogi Bhajan’s closest students to bring this energy and wisdom to others.

The couple created this center to share the healing and growth that the practice offers. Their combined experience in yoga, massage, and healing arts helped build a welcoming space for people to learn, grow, and find balance.

The studio offers yoga teacher training programs certified by the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI), which helps students become skilled teachers and improve their own practice. It’s a place where ancient teachings meet modern lives right in the heart of Colorado’s peaceful mountains.
