How to Do Kala Bhairavasana?
Follow the Step-by-Step Procedure

This asana should be done on a non-slippery surface, so you can use a yoga mat. The Kala Bhairava asana pose is also included in the Vinyasa flow yoga.

  • Before you start the asana, do the warm-ups and stretches to keep your body loose and flexible to take this challenging pose.
  • Start by sitting in the Staff pose, keep your legs straight and your spine elongated, and breathe deeply to ease yourself.
  • Inhale and bend your right knee (right leg) and hold the right foot with your hands.
  • Now holding the right foot with your left arm, bring your right elbow under your right knee hook it, and lift it a little upward.
  • Now gently bring the right knee behind the right shoulder and hold the right calf with your right hand.
  • Slightly Rotate your right hip externally and bring your right foot above your head and slowly push your chest forward, so that you can comfortably place the right ankle behind your head.
  • Now inhale and press the left foot and right palm on the mat lengthen your spine and come as you are in the side plank on the left side.
  • Exhale raise your left hand to the ceiling and let your body be aligned diagonally from the crown to the left heel.
  • Here your whole-body weight is shifted to your left, gently turn your head look up at your right palm, and keep breathing.
  • You can hold this pose within your comfort limit and do this same procedure with your left leg on your shoulder and turn your body weight on your right heel and left palm.
  • While releasing the pose, lower your body bring your head forward and chin toward your chest pull your abdomen in, and release your leg.
