500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Florida

Yoga found its way to Florida long before it even became a trend. Back in 1968, a small ashram in Deerfield Beach was built, which was one of South Florida’s first yoga studios. They included trainings that laid the path for more advanced training programs, including the 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) that so many teachers wish to do.

Thee House of Yoga

Thee House of Yoga

About –

Thee House of Yoga is a peaceful yoga studio for movement, healing, and community. It was founded in 2012 by Jenna Lomazzo, a passionate yoga teacher, massage therapist, and world traveler.

Jenna’s journey began in the late 1990s when she studied massage and bodywork. Her love for yoga led her to complete her Bikram Yoga teacher training in Los Angeles in 2001. But her path didn’t stop there because she traveled across the world to Thailand, where she trained in Thai massage, and later to Hong Kong, where she taught yoga at the well-known Pure Yoga studio. On the way, she learned from the biggest names in yoga and healing, including Ana Forrest, Shiva Rea, and Ellen Heed.

After years of learning and practicing teaching abroad, Jenna returned home with a dream to create a space where people could feel supported, empowered, and connected, not just to their bodies, but to themselves and each other.

Thee House of Yoga is a home built on love, learning, and the belief that movement can heal and uplift.

Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach

Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach

About –

Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach is a heartfelt space where yoga has been practiced, taught, and loved for over 50 years. It all began back in 1968 when a woman named Madhu opened a small ashram in South Florida. She created the space in memory of her daughter, Gail Teichmann, who had spent her life caring for children and animals at a mission in India.

Madhu wanted to build a peaceful place where people could heal, grow, and feel connected, just like her daughter had inspired her through her own service. That dream came to life by 1972, and the ashram had officially become a yoga studio.

Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach was also one of the first in South Florida to offer a 200-hour yoga teacher training, starting way back in 1988. Today, it continues to offer daily yoga classes, workshops, retreats, and entire trainings, keeping its roots strong while welcoming fresh energy and ideas.

This center was born from love, built with purpose, and continues to grow as a place where yoga is shared with kindness and community.

Yoga Medicine

Yoga Medicine

About –

Yoga Medicine isn’t just about poses and breathwork; it’s where ancient yoga wisdom gets in touch with modern science. This global yoga education platform was founded by Tiffany Cruikshank, a registered yoga teacher, licensed acupuncturist, and expert in Chinese medicine.

After years of working in clinics and teaching yoga, Tiffany noticed something important – that yoga had so much healing potential, but it wasn’t always used in ways that supported people’s unique bodies and health conditions. So, she decided to change that. In 2012, Yoga Medicine was born!

Her vision was clear: to train yoga to lead teachers to work like wellness professionals by combining yoga with anatomy, yoga sutras, research, ancient practice, yogic history, and therapeutic tools. They have now trained over 15,000 teachers worldwide and offer 200-, 500-, and even 1,000-hour teacher training programs.

But their work isn’t just about the classroom. Through their Yoga Medicine Seva Foundation, Tiffany and her team give back by helping women who have survived human trafficking in India, find healing and empowerment.

At its heart, Yoga Medicine was created to support real people with health issues and to help yoga teachers become confident guides in both physical movement and true healing.

Final Words

Choosing to do your 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Florida isn’t just about advancing your teaching skills; it’s also about coming into a whole new rhythm. Here, your classroom might be a sunlit studio or a breezy beach deck with the soundtrack of ocean waves. You’re not just refining your cues or sequencing here; you’ll learn about different layers of yourself and be guided by mentors who’ve shaped the region’s yoga story for decades.

What makes Florida stand out isn’t only the weather (though yes, those golden sunrises do something magical to your morning personal practice). It’s actually the sense of lineage from yoga schools, the growing wellness hubs, and the combination of modern methods with ancient roots!
