Beach yoga California

Suppose you’re opening your yoga mat right on the sand with waves crashing nearby and the sun warming your face. That’s beach yoga, which is a peaceful mix of nature and movement that brings your yoga practice to life under the open skies.

Beach Yoga California

Beach yoga became famous in California during the early 2000s, when local yoga instructors started hosting casual classes on the shores of the beach. The idea was to take yoga out of the studio and into the healing space of nature. This was a movement started by community teachers in places like Santa Monica and San Diego who wanted to make yoga more accessible, refreshing, and connected to the Earth.

In California, beach yoga is more than a class; it’s also an experience. The soft sand becomes a cushion to your body, the ocean breeze cools your skin, and each breath syncs with the rhythm of the tides.

If you’re flowing through sun salutations at sunrise or finding stillness under a pastel-shaded sunset, then the beach becomes your sacred studio.

So, let’s check out the beach yoga studios in California –

Beach Yoga SoCal

Beach Yoga SoCal

About –

In 2008, a beach-loving yogi, Vee Gomez, had a beautiful idea that what if we could do yoga not just near the ocean, but with the ocean? That idea gave birth to Beach Yoga SoCal, which is one of the first yoga studios in Southern California to offer yoga services on the sand.

Vee wasn’t just thinking about movement, but she also wanted people to feel the earth beneath them, breathe with the waves, and find calm in nature’s rhythm. With a team of trained and insured teachers, she brought her dream to life on the shores of Santa Monica.

Since then, Beach Yoga SoCal has become more than a class. It’s a seaside yoga community and a reminder that you don’t need walls or a roof to find your yoga flow. Just sand, sea, and a little sunshine will do wonders for your yoga practice!

Soho Yoga

Soho Yoga

About –

Soho Yoga is a unique yoga studio in the sunny heart of Hermosa Beach. It was started by three friends with one big dream.

Richard Jefferson, a former NBA star, teamed up with his longtime friend Pete Niva and a passionate yoga teacher, Natasha Snow Needles. Each of them brought something different to the table: athleticism, heart, and huge love for yoga.

They noticed something was missing in the local yoga studios, as most places offered only one kind of experience. So, they decided to build something new, a space where both heated and non-heated yoga class could exist side by side and where everyone is welcome.

And that’s how Soho Yoga Hermosa Beach CA began, a place filled with warmth, movement, and community.

Beach Yoga Offerings –

  • They conduct regular beach classes at 14th Street on the sand. The yoga styles include open-level Yoga Flow, Warrior Flow, Yin + Yang, Yoga Barre, and Sculpt.
  • Its drop-in rate is $24 per class, with class packs of 5, 10, or 20 classes available.
  • They also provide a Beach Monthly Membership for unlimited classes at $75/month(3-month minimum).
  • The studio conducts special beach events and workshops, like International Yoga Day, which is a free beach yoga celebration.
  • Another event is SOHO BEACH YOGA × POLE, which is a unique fusion of chakra emphasis flow and pole work held on the beach and entering into your sacral energy.
